So a week ago Sunday the laptop arbitrarily decided it would be a much happier computer if it no longer had an operation system. It decided this while I was sleeping. You need another XP PC with sufficient drive space and a way to connect your drive to it; either via a USB2 drive case (about $20) or internal cabling from the PC. You may find that running an imaging schedule such as the Acronis TrueImage 14-day free trial (about 100 meg. ) is the fastest way to get *all* of the data.
